Torsion-resistant, with no backlash
R+W’s product portfolio covers a wide range, with a lineup that includes backlash-free torque limiters, torsionally rigid metal bellows couplings, vibration dampening elastomer jaw-type couplings, compact miniature couplings, flexible servo couplings, axial zero backlash linear couplings, and high-quality line shafts.
All of R+W’s motor, shaft, and servo couplings are torsion-resistant, with no backlash, as are the company’s torque limiters and line shafts. Each shaft coupling or line shaft is available in stainless steel, and the manufacturer offers free, downloadable CAD drawing files of every shaft coupling torque limiter, and line shaft. R+W promises powerful performance in every application, with robust and flexible transmission of even the heaviest loads, in the largest dimensions.
There are six general categories of R+W products available from Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd.:
- Torque limiters. Precise overload protection, with clamping hubs and keyway connections. Ranges from 0.1 to 160,000 newton metres (Nm).
- Bellows couplings. These industrial couplings are backlash-, wear-, and maintenance-free, with high torsional stiffness and a range from 0.05 to 100,000 Nm.
- Line shafts. Torsionally rigid, elastic line shafts with adjustable lengths and no wear or maintenances. Range from ten to 4,000 Nm.
- Elastomer couplings. Precise, compact couplings with clamping hubs and conical and keyway connection. Range from two to 25,000 newton metres.
- Linear couplings. Zero-maintenance couplings with infinite life and no axial backlash. Low mass and weight for low inertia. Range from 70 to 2,000 newton metres.
- Miniature couplings. Versatile and precise couplings with press-fit connection, clamping hubs and screws, and hollow shafts. Range from 0.05 to ten newton metres.
