SMC Pneumatics manufactures a variety of pick and place products
Advanced Motion & Controls supplies a wide range of pick and place products by SMC.
As automation technology expands and progresses, so does the market for robotic components like grippers and vacuum equipment for moving and placing materials. SMC Pneumatics, whose lineup is available from Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd., is a premier source of pick and place products for robotic applications.
Pick and place products can be grouped into two main categories: those for primary handling, or putting individual pieces of product into a tray or carton, and case packing. SMC manufactures both kinds, in a wide range of items for moving workpieces of various shapes and materials.
Pneumatic, electric, and magnetic grippers
Advanced Motion & Controls Ltd. carries both grippers and vacuum products by SMC, and the grippers come in three designs: pneumatic, electric, and magnetic. The list of grippers includes the following:
- Pneumatic two-finger gripper. The most popular style, available in many variations to suit different applications and workpiece types.
- Pneumatic three-finger gripper. Recommended for round workpieces, with a movement synchronized by either a wedge-cam or rotary-cam mechanism.
- Pneumatic four-finger gripper. Perfect for positioning square workpieces and picking up round objects. Also useful for end-of-arm or limited-space applications.
- Auto hand change system. Versatile system can be linked or interchanged with pneumatic grippers or integrated into flexible manufacturing systems.
- Electric two-finger gripper. Advantages include adjustable gripping force, drop-prevention function, and ability to recognize dimensions and length measurements.
- Electric three-finger gripper. Similar to the two-finger one, but can hold round pieces.
- Magnetic gripper. Possible substitute for vacuum cups or grippers when working with metallic workpieces. Position sensors can be mounted on three or four sides.
SMC also produces several types of vacuum pick and place products, such as generators, cups, cup adaptors, non-contact pads, cup-generator combos, and saving valves. Vacuum generators use compressed air and a venture to generate vacuum suck. Constructed out of a variety of premium materials, vacuum cups come in 19 diameters ranging from two to 200 millimeters for use in delicate or heavy applications.
To keep in step with modern manufacturing robotics, trust SMC.
