The MBPS is a normally closed brake, which requires pneumatic pressure to open. Higher holding forces are obtained from heavy-duty springs, which require multiple pistons connected in series to release the spring force. Ideal for applications with limited space because of its small envelope size.
The principle behind the mechanical advantage is a simple wedge (trilateral prism), an acute angle for smooth activation and direct gear reduction.
